Ilia
I have been learning Aikido, under Kiva’s training, over the last 23 years. As an instructor, I ran alternate Aikido classes for the last decade. Aikido is a source of energy that stimulates physical flexibility, invigorates mental drive and offers thinking outside the box. Body strength and fitness, improved with Aikido training, form within friendly, thought-provoking, assisted settings. Our Aikido school principles apply beyond self-defence. Everyday issues, relationships and tasks can be resolved, approached and executed using Aikido tenets.
Luke
Luke has been training with Melbourne Kokikai since 2006. He trains at the Caulfield dojo most weeks and the Belgrave dojo every second week.
He received his 3rd Dan in Kokikai Aikido in 2024. He believes the most beneficial part of Kokikai Aikido is that it promotes healthy coordination between body and mind.
Simone
Don’t be fooled by Simone’s smile and giggles. With 4 years Aikido experience, Simone has already achieved 1st Kyu. Simone’s enthusiasm for Aikido makes her a great teacher for kids and adults alike.
Initially from a sister Kokikai club in Brisbane, Simone has made the move to Melbourne to enjoy our glorious cold winters.
